AFTER HOUR CARE
As a patient of Cornerstone Pediatrics, you can be confident, that you will receive medical advice needed to care for a sick child even when the office is closed. Our provider handles all after-hour patient calls. However, you should always contact 911 first if your child is experiencing a medical emergency. For urgent questions related to your child's health, a call is recommended rather than attempting to communicate via e-mail.
Please do not use the after-hours provider service line for issues pertaining to appointment scheduling, cancellations, routine health questions or other office related matters that may be answered during regular business hours. The after-hours provider service line is strictly reserved for medical assistance needed by a patient. Please be advised, our staff only communicates via e-mail Monday through Friday during regular scheduled business hours..
When leaving a message on the provider's voice-mail please speak clearly, quickly define the nature of the call and any symptoms your child is experiencing, and remember to leave a call-back number where you prefer to be contacted. Writing down your questions, any and all medications or remedies you have already tried, documenting temperature, and advising the provider whether you adhere to an active vaccine program, are all essential pieces of information that will help our provider render a more precise evaluation as to your child's medical needs.
Please note that calls made with restricted or caller I.D. blocking, cannot be returned, unless you remember to clearly, speak your telephone number when leaving your message. Technological difficulties at times can hinder a provider from receiving a call, as does their involvement in caring for an emergency case at the hospital.
